That’s a really excellent question and one that I constantly ask. Well, here is my backstory so far. Growing up in Houston, TX, I have always been a lover of nature and all things plants and animals. From backyard gardens as a kid to indoor plants and hydroponic gardens as an adult, I fear this is something that I will take with me throughout the rest of my life.

Photography really came into my life when I was young. Props to my father, he was always bringing his camera to family functions and snapping off those super memorable family photos that some of us have tucked away in a “photo album” somewhere. One day, while watching trains in MacGregor, TX, he handed me the camera and taught me how to use it. From there, it’s just a culmination of time till I started working professionally in 2012.

My first serious shoots were with models and assisting other professionals in the field. However, these were the seeds that sprouted a few years later as event and wedding photography. In 2014, I volunteered with the Houston pop culture convention, Comicpalooza, as their lead photographer. We started with a team of 10 for a 4-day convention, and my last year there was leading 35 people on photo and video projects during the convention. There are so many stories of the wonderful people I worked with and all the amazing guests and talent that I met during my time there.

During my time there, I was branching out into different forms of commercial photography (working with artists for album covers, vehicle photography, weddings, etc.), a close friend of mine brought me into the fold of her business to help with some specific reception projects that were absolutely amazing. This really showed me which direction I wanted to take things.
